The World of Crossfit
Many men swear by Crossfit. I do not necessarily blame them; the workouts are no-joke. They’re definitely good elements of Crossfit and it has its place in your own training. Just understand what many other professionals that dont live by the Crossfit Word have to say about.
Every man wants to get those last few rounds of golf in before the weather goes from cold to plain bad (at least in the North). With that thought in mind the training season is coming for golf players; even though training should be year round to improve performance and reduce risk of injury. Looking to mix up your cardio routines, try out an MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) style workout. A lot of MMA gyms offer “Combat Conditioning” or “Crossfit” style classes. Check out your local gyms, stop in and try one out… just be mentally ready.

Anyone that ever played football or wrestled remembers the dreaded Up Downs, or Burpees. They killed you then, and can kill you still. For some though the flexibility isnt there anymore to do them so smooth. For others they did so many of them when they were a Young Buck, that the thought of them now is boring. Here are some great variations that both make them easier, as well as make them tougher.
Implement the dreaded Burpee into your cardio/fat burng routine or days to add a real change of pace to it all.
Chi Running
Spring is here. Summer is right around the corner. For those of you that enjoy the nice weather all year long, you will just keep on, keeping on. However, for most of us we will be starting to head outside for our morning runs. Avoid injury as your miles increase that you are “pounding the pavement.” Review the basics of what is called Chi Running.
Distance running can be real taxing on the lower extremity joints of the body if proper technique and certain principals are not thought about. Do not hurt yourself with overuse injuries. Understand long distance running technique before you do it.
